Today we say goodbye to Jim Alsup, a founding member of the Scharbauer Foundation’s Board of Directors. Mr. Alsup’s vision, leadership, and steadfast commitment to our community helped shape the Scharbauer Foundation from its earliest days. He played an integral role in the formation of the Foundation, ensuring the Foundation’s alignment with the intentions and interests of its founders, Clarence Scharbauer, Jr. and his wife, Dorothy Turner Scharbauer.
He lived a life defined by servant leadership, both personally and professionally. From his legal career at Lynch, Chappell & Alsup to his dedicated service on numerous state and local boards, Midland is richer for having Mr. Alsup as part of its story.
During his time on the Scharbauer Foundation Board, Mr. Alsup helped to guide our mission and growth. He had a key interest in healthcare and supported organizations and projects that provided access to mental healthcare for Midlanders in need.
The core values of the Scharbauer Foundation include faith in God, honesty and integrity, respectfulness, compassion, stewardship, and initiative. These values were reflected in the way Mr. Alsup lived and led throughout his life.
The Scharbauer Foundation Board & Staff extends our deepest condolences to Mr. Alsup’s family and loved ones during this time. He will be profoundly missed.
