Midland, TX – In its first grant cycle of the year, Scharbauer Foundation awarded more than $26.6 million to more than 20 area nonprofits and organizations working to strengthen education, healthcare, quality of place, and human services across Midland.

“Strong communities are built through sustained investment in our focus areas,” said Mary Ann Beninati, CEO and President of Scharbauer Foundation. “Each organization supported through this grant cycle is helping address important community needs while creating new opportunities for Midland residents and families. These partnerships reflect our ongoing commitment to building a better Midland.”

The impact of the 2026 Spring Grant Cycle includes a grant to Midland College in support of the Applied Technology Complex. The Foundation also awarded a grant for technology support for Greenwood ISD students and educators.

Scharbauer Foundation also awarded grants that will strengthen community wellness and access to healthcare by supporting Pink the Basin, Samaritan Center, and The Springboard Center.

Furthering the Foundation’s mission to build a better Midland, this Spring’s grant cycle included grants in the Foundation’s Quality of Place focus area to Nonprofit Management Center, MSS, and others. These organizations play an important role in strengthening nonprofit collaboration and community resources. The Foundation also approved a grant to support the Nature Commons capital campaign at Watersong Wild Space, formerly I-20 Wildlife Preserve.

In the Human Services focus area, the Foundation awarded grants to organizations including High Sky Children’s Ranch, Mission Center Adult Day Service, Neighbors Eden Project, Teen Challenge, Casa de Amigos, Permian Basin Habitat for Humanity, Midland Fair Havens, and others. These grants support programs and services that provide housing assistance, family support, senior services, and resources for individuals facing hardship throughout the Midland community.
