(Press Release from Midland ISD, June 16, 2025).

Program empowers educators with skills to create change.

June 16, 2025 -- Four Midland ISD campuses have been selected to participate in The Holdsworth Center's Campus Leader Program, a two-year professional development journey aimed at strengthening campus leadership and improving student outcomes.

The 2025 cohort includes General Tommy Franks Elementary, Bonham Elementary, Alamo Junior High, and San Jacinto Junior High. This honor highlights the district's dedication to growing educators and improving student outcomes.

"I am truly honored to be selected for the Holdsworth Campus Leadership Program. I look forward to learning alongside other educators and developing the tools needed to lead with purpose and vision,” said Principal of Bonham Elementary, Alexandra Edwards. “I am excited to grow as a leader, so I can better support our students, empower our teachers, and help create a campus of excellence."

The Campus Leadership Program blends executive coaching for principals with learning sessions led by nationally recognized faculty. Principals begin by enhancing their leadership skills through sessions held at The Holdsworth Center’s Campus on Lake Austin and personalized executive coaching. Campus leadership teams later join the principals to participate in simulations, role-play exercises, and field visits designed to deepen their learning and showcase effective leadership practices in action.

Together, the team learns to apply continuous improvement methods, commonly used in Fortune 500 companies, to solve real-world challenges. These real-world challenges can include improving math outcomes for underserved student groups.

In addition to Midland ISD, the 2025 cohort includes campuses from Corpus Christi, Duncanville, Los Fresnos, and Lubbock. The program is part of the Holdsworth Partnership, a multi-year investment designed to help school districts grow a strong bench of outstanding leaders at all levels.

This opportunity was made possible for Midland ISD through the support of the Scharbauer Foundation. Their support allows the district to invest in strong campus leadership, which directly benefits students.
